Australian National Youth Week (NYW) runs from 10 – 19 April 2015 and organisers are encouraging young people to have a voice and take action on the issues that matter to them.
The theme of NYW is It Starts with Us and all around the country young people are sharing their stories and getting involved in events to have their say about issues including mental health; marriage equality; the environment; and health and wellbeing. You can check out NYW Young Members sharing their stories about how they became involved with Youth Week and the key issues they are facing at http://www.youthweek.com/young-members
Mental health groups like headspace and beyondblue are getting behind Youth Week with events, competitions and support. Find out about events happening near you at youthweek.com and have your say about issues that matter.
How are you celebrating Youth Week? What do you think the healthcare system can do to better engage with young people?
